An announcement I’m announcing that I’m in town what’s to do here? Try to meet while I’m around But what to do here? ‘cept to make a space for when I return you’ll know when it’s me I’ll be the one with the announcement An appointment I’m appointed to my day a commitment I’m committed to my way I guess you missed me guess you missed the whole point of my trip I’ll be back, friend I’ll be the one with the commitment

The Grifter 03:15
The grift is the purest form the purest form I know brand new networks, wonderful strangers they carry my dough I arrived in a big way, on a Wednesday and I’ll leave town once I’ve found I’ve abused my stay In a confidence man’s market the trade goes one way I love studying the unmasked and my mask is opaque I used to walk like everyone else to watch the sun set now I carry my own sunset with me The young, performing lad it’s a pitiful sight, I know I have him going every which way thinks he’s playing a role missed opportunity has him pleading to the community don’t put any of this on me it ain’t me In a confidence man’s market the trade goes one way I love studying the unmasked and my mask is opaque I used to walk like everyone else to watch the sun set now I carry my own sunset with me The grift is the purest form it’s the purest form I know the only true price grifter’s paradise I know I know high the price is high The grift is the purest form the purest form I know the advertisement louder than the content I know I know high the price is high The grift is the purest form it’s the purest form I know the only true price grifter’s paradise I know I know high the price is high

This Summer 04:12
This summer is placed right after last summer in terms of time from now on, for me, this is the structure everlasting breeze unreachable grime someone’s mowed grass on my tires a stranger’s work in sight summer reading of some author’s devastation the strange work of the night I’ve taken flight brief, solitary flight flying away Listen now the way I say it, and not what I say Listen now to what I say, and not the way I say it oh not the way oh not what I say Next summer is noisy and visual you’re a busy bee, but I take you afar next summer is mental and spatial you’ve never met me, but I know your memoir Someone’s debt landed on my doorstep life was circular all this noted and reviewed in my notebook life as seminar I’ve taken flight brief, solitary flight flying away

Friends 05:14
How much blood does not escape? critical query not offered in last your note come to a standstill, I’m standing like a stone stands walking back into this very hour last year Let’s be friends The camera falls into the river The ghost of earlier generations haunting only until it’s discovered I have no wisdom left for you to show with your camera and the ghost is a stubborn type of ghost and it gathers form and hopes it’s discovered I’m not your next portrait to show off and you’re not mine either Pushing things I ought to do aside there is traffic, traffic in my life how are you? I realize I should’ve asked you how you been? But, sincerely I wish to still be friends Let’s be friends The camera falls into the river The ghost of earlier generations haunting only until its discovered I have no wisdom left for you to show with your camera and the ghost is a stubborn type of ghost and it gathers form and hopes its discovered I’m not your next portrait to show off and you’re not mine either

the farmer and I take stock of the harvest the harvest is dry dust kicks up wherever I turn haven't written in a while but I'm back in the habit haven't worked since I was a child and so I keep on going back there my friend says it's an emergency if we don't root down gonna slide all around we said this at a meeting spot impossibly from miles all around we said keep it comin on keep it comin on keep it runnin the tape back the gardener and I take pictures of the flowers in my room, i don't know why but I make drawings of the photographs haven't listened in a while but I'm back with the program and I'm tracking all the miles all the miles leading into this laughter I'm afraid of what I'll do of what I'll say yes, you’ve said it all before I'm in a better place, I'm in better hands the future is bright and you can come by anytime

This is not right I saw it clearly You saw it clearly Last night Change is not enough Verne and Miranda Inspired by the look of the veranda Ended their relationship A loss We loved their pairing Didn't realize we needed them to be together Now we have a change to memorize Move Making moves Time Is gathering shape To cook the food You have to let it simmer Verne came over Four hours after Miranda He even drank the same wine The next day I went to work And work turned me into a monster As I tried to control my hours I'm a village's son I'm a village's son I just don't seem to know it yet I'm clinging to the one village That I mustn't forget What’s that fifth season coming for us all? batten down the one hatch I know all the drama I could try to ignore but I’m up all night and I”m watching the night go What’s that fifth season? Add it to the calendar add it to the calendar, baby Move making moves time is gathering shape to cook the food You have to let it simmer it has to change its color you have to taste its flavor and when you eat it savor

Who’s that slender fellow? Champion, but so mellow He’s about to cross the finish line Mayor Spencer declared this Cooper Teare Day I’m not going to work on Cooper Teare Day Who’s your spindly brother? In his wake, all others as if he’s just running by himself Go for a jog on the San Leandro Bay All across Alameda it’s Cooper Teare Day

Landscape 07:03
If I don’t get to it, I know someone else will and I should be grateful There’s a broken car window I was thinking of it in the bathroom I had shattered the mirror and left it so I could remember there’s a feeling that I know know it so well I can describe it but if I reach for the words and the tone I’ll be stretching into infinity there’s an artist there’s a sleuth there’s a criminal, which to follow if you’re like me, you’ve got proof if you’re like me let me know it Not now, not now you say not now, not now anyway and how, how do we go on? Drove out comin’ home on the train drove out comin’ home on a slow train walk with me, walk with me rolling out the landscape landscape There’s a brilliant book I know I’m tuned up, lemme tell you about it there’s a takeaway, I took it all away you’ll let me know if it doesn’t move you there’s a feeling there’s a feeling I know pissed you off with my word salad oh day oh mark this day mark, mark my words hear what I say Not now, not now you say not now, not now anyway and how, how do we go on? Drove out comin’ home on the train drove out comin’ home on a slow train walk with me, walk with me rolling out the landscape landscape if I don’t get to it I know, someone else will and I should be grateful
